Nominate a Teacher

Nominate any previously retired teacher who deserves to be featured in the spotlight

As part of the nomination process, we ask that you submit a 300-500 word narrative that includes a personal anecdote telling why this person has been nominated and why they meet the Spotlight Award criteria:

Must be retired from Portage Public Schools for at least 3 years.
Must have been employed by PPS for a minimum of 10 years.
Demonstrated enthusiasm for the teaching and learning process.
Brought something unique to PPS.
Shows a distinguished record of applying a variety of shared professional expertise and creativity.
Has had a positive impact on both students and other teachers/professionals.
Demonstrated high standards and a commitment to learner-centered education.
Submit by January 15th each year for recognition in April.

Join us every April as we honor all the retiring Portage Public Schools staff and administrators along with our the spotlight award winners who were nominated by their peers. The spotlight award recipients will be featured during our April event.
